MEET HILARY
Founder of The Liminality Practice

Hi, I’m Hilary, and I’m an observer by nature. Perceptive and deeply attuned, I believe in the power of truly being seen.
My clients often find themselves in liminal spaces: in between roles, identities, relationships, or life stages. These thresholds can be disorienting, but they can also be sacred. My work is about helping those longing for clarity and presence in times of change.
Therapy with me is conversational, collaborative, and rooted in curiosity. I’m not the “silent therapist” type. I show up with you and help you notice the undercurrents and dynamics shaping your life: internally and externally, subtly and clearly. While our work can be deep, I also believe therapy doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time. It can be both meaningful and lighthearted - laughter can be part of the healing too.
Together, we conduct experiments, observe what emerges, and make meaning from the data of your lived experience. One of my core gifts is helping you name what you’re sensing but haven’t been able to say aloud - to take what’s vague, blurry, or overwhelming and bring it into focus.
I believe every person is the expert in their own life. I’m passionate about validating your unique experience while empowering you to find meaning and purpose. I welcome spiritual, existential, or identity-based exploration, when and if it feels aligned for you.
A BIT MORE PERSONAL
When I'm not in session, you might find me cuddling my dog Emma, soaking up the sun, eating lots of chocolate, going off grid (mostly figuratively, sometimes literally), walking around barefoot, or going for a run. Exercise is definitely one of my coping methods, and I've completed numerous half marathons after setting a personal goal while in graduate school. A lifelong Florida resident (born and raised in Miami), I recently relocated to the Upstate of South Carolina! I'm still licensed and practicing in Florida (and Colorado and South Carolina).
